John 8:32 “Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.”
Everyone deserves to know the truth. Everyone is worth the truth. But sometimes, the truth that we all deserve is better hidden for us to not be hurt and for us not to cause pain to the ones we love.
They say that there are things better left unsaid. I agree. There are things we choose not to discuss because we are afraid of its outcome. We are afraid of the changes that may happen. We are not ready that it may force us to lose something and that we are not ready to let go.
They say that truth hurts. Yes, at some point it does. That’s why we will do everything to run away from the truth. We are afraid to confront and face the truth. That when the time comes to reveal the truth, we’re often not brave enough, so we hesitate. And the extended hesitation can end up taking away our opportunity to tell the truth.

Knowing the truth, sometimes, will require us to have enough courage, to accept the reality.
Speaking the truth requires boldness, not to be affected by the lies that surrounds us.
I now truly understands what Jesus said in the book of John, “the truth will set you free.” It means, no matter how joyful or painful it may be, it will always set us free. It may be hard to accept, it may require us to let go of some things or it may mean we need to embrace change, but at the end of it all, it will always set us free.
Free to stand for the truth, to live by the truth and to share the truth to other people.
Standing for God’s truth is not easy. Lies will be thrown at you. People will judge you at some point. People will doubt about what you say. And I assure you, you can never go away from persecutions. But what will make us all survive is the truth of God and not the lies that this world is offering to us.
The truth can sometimes break our hearts. But sometimes, it can make our hearts whole again.
It is His truth that will mend every scar from every pain you’ve felt, that He is near whenever you are broken. Psalms 34:18
It is His truth that will complete every missing piece you keep searching on to the things in this world, that greater is the One living inside of you than he who is living in the world. Deuteronomy 31:8
It is His truth that will remind you of your worth, that you are loved unconditionally, with all your flaws and weaknesses. Luke 3:22
It is His truth that will give you strength every time you are tired and about to give up. Isaiah 40:29
And it is His truth that will pick you up every time you fall down. 2 Corinthians 12:9
Have courage and say the truth, for it will always set you free.
