I gave you up.

Romans 8:28 And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.

I gave you up not because I want to.

I gave you up because I have to.

I gave you up not because I’m already tired.

I gave you up because for the longest time, I tried so hard to make things work.

I gave you up not because I don’t want “us” anymore.

I gave you up because the “us” that we know is not the “us” we should be.

I told myself many times that as long as we both choose to stay, we can be good. But I was wrong. I was wrong in believing that it was only the two of us who can make things work. I was wrong in believing that we can be happy in our own ways. I was wrong in believing that our own will and choice will bring us to forever.

One moment made me realize these things, that moment when I saw you, that moment when I looked into your eyes.

The moment I gave you up was the moment I realized that God can love you more than I do.

The moment we gave “us” up was the moment we went back to our FIRST LOVE.
