1 Corinthians 13

V13 And now these three remains: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is LOVE.

The love chapter. The love that Apostle Paul was talking about here is the kind of love that God has for us.

Love is patient.

God's love doesn't force things to happen. His love doesn't make us rush things. God knows the value and importance of time and waiting. A lot of stories in the bible where waiting is one of their testimonies. For example, Abraham to Isaac and Jacob to Rachel. Patience comes with determination and perseverance. So, we must also love patiently. Ang totoong nagmamahal, may tiyaga.

Love is kind.

God's love doesn't oblige us to give something in return. It is just a genuine love which is so unconditional. It's free, it's for everyone. "Love is kind" means God is willing to give us everything which He knows are good for us.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

God's love for comes with humility. It will make us more dependent to God. If we are truly experiencing God's love for us, then there should be no amount of pride in our hearts. God's love doesn't look down on people.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. God's love doesn't hurt anyone purposefully. It doesn't pull people down. God's love can control our emotions and feelings. Love doesn't justify what is wrong. Love always dwell on the truth. God's love will tell us what we need to hear, not what we only want to hear.

Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

True love is found in the presence of God. True love comes when you obey Him. You'll know if that's love is true or not when it is grounded in the word and love of God.

It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Here, we need to choose love, everyday, every time. When time comes that you feel little amount of love, choose love still. For even if you're angry, you will still protect them. For even if they betrayed you, you can still trust. For even if everything seems to fall apart, you can still hope for the best to happen. For even if you're tired and exhausted, you can still move forward and persevere. It will all be possible because you chose love.

Love never fails.

They said that if it fails, it was never love at the first place. But I say, if it's a love you gained from the world, then surely it will fail. But if it's a love you gained in Christ, then it will never fail. It will always win.
